Prescribed Burn Scheduled in the Chiricahua Mountains

A prescribed burn is scheduled for an area around Johnson Peak in the Chiricahua Mountains starting on December 2, 2010.  The area is bounded by "Turkey Creek on the north, Rucker Canyon on the south, the Crest Trail on the east and the Coronado National Forest boundary on the west".  No trail closures are planned and although the burn will be on the west side of the Chiricahua Mountains smoke will be visible from the surrounding areas.  More information is available here.
