The Test
The Rustic cabin at the Painted Pony Resort received its' first set of guests and a family reunion held at the estate provided the occasion. A family of 5 stayed in the cabin for the reunion and tried out everything. The only glitch found was a breaker on the demand type water heater. The breaker was starting to fail and tripping after about 5 minutes of usage, making showers short the first night. A run to the Valley Mercantile Saturday morning for parts and an hour of work had the problem resolved for the guests. The fence walk through installed to ease walking access between the main estate and the cabin was completed before their arrival allowing them the option of walking or driving between the cabin and estate. It was another happy family centered gathering at the Painted Pony Resort.

It sounds like everything ended up all right for the guests after some of your work!
ReplyDeleteYes, the families reunion and birthday celebration came off well and I was able to stay on top of all the details that required my attention during their visit.
ReplyDeleteCuriosity from Europe: I visited Animas in 2010 and 2012 on a bike tour and did shopping in a grocery/gas station along NM-9 on the Hachita side. Is it still there? Is the Mercantile new? I will probably cycle there again in 2014.
ReplyDeleteMathieu - The boot heel grocery is on Highway 9 just east of Animas and is still in business. The Mercantile is also on Highway 9 but on the west side of town. It recently added gas pumps and a grocery. Happy cycling.
